Hotel Villa Padierna Golf & Spa, Marbella (Málaga) has been ranked one of the best hotels in the world, according to online travel agency Expedia.es.

The Marbella luxury hotel holds 28th place in the classification.

After Malaga lies the Barceló Oviedo Cervantes, at number 48, the AC Palau de Bellavista, Girona, 157, the Nixe Palace Hotel in Palma de Mallorca (207) and the Sheraton La Caleta Resort & Spa in Tenerife (252).

Expedia.es introduced this ‘ranking’ on the best available on the website of the company and classified the hotels according to the quality of service and appreciation of their guests. The list, called ‘Insiders’ select’ is a selection based on inside information that has been compiled from the experience of travelers who have recently stayed at one of the hotels offered.

“We are committed to providing the tools and information needed to help users to book your dream vacation, with the confidence of choosing the perfect hotel for your stay,” said the director of Online Marketin Expedia, Llibert Argerich.

This list includes the best places to stay from more than 110,000 hotel options offered by Expedia in 9000 destinations. The classification includes accommodation in 1022 cities around the world, 40 percent in Europe.

Travelers placed the luxurious Galaxy Iraklio Hotel, located on the island of Crete “on top of the world”. The Hide Away Guest House, in the town of Knysna, South Africa, stands as the second favorite at international level, while American Drury Inn Indianapolis in third place.
